BRU Return
Hi--
Well, I posted a really negative post about a Medela Freestyle Pump I bought at Babies R Us only to later discover it had been opened already. I went back the very next day to return it and, thankfully, the same associate who sold me the pump was working in customer service and recognized me. So, there was absolutely no hesitation in issuing a refund. Although I would have liked to exchange it ,(I got it for 322 instead of 380 due to a 15% off coupon) the BRU 90 return policy does NOT apply to breastpumps. Those have to be returned in 45 days....and the baby is coming in 43 days...so in all honesty, I probably won't even need it before those 45 days are up.
I'm hoping there will be another 15% off coupon in the near future and I'll take advantage of the offer then.
Thanks for listening to my rant the other day!

P.S. Speaking of returns....the baby was given some duplicate outfits that I'm positive where purchased at BRU, even though there's no gift receipt....do you think I can bring them in sans-receipt to get store credit? Does anyone have experience having done this?

I've found you've got to pretty much go ahead in there and act like you're the one in charge. Say "I got two of these outfits and I'd like to exchange this one for this one, which is the same price." If its an item thats still on the shelf, they will often let you do that. Don't ask. Tell! Good luck!

I bet that's a relief! I guess I don't understand... you returned within 45 days so why couldn't you exchange it? That's a bummer because you used your coupon and everything, they should at least give you another one of those or something.
I had to return a couple things to several different stores (Walmart, Target, BRU) w/o a receipt and all of them were good about giving a store credit. I'd been shopping so much I could look at the tags and tell which store it came from LOL I think you'll be fine.
I was concerned the pump coulnd't be returned, as the sticker seal was broken....meaning it had been opened. I apparently purchased it this way, not knowing the seal had been broken...so I was fearful that BRU would act like I was the one who tampered with it......
Thankfully that didn't happen and it all ended well.

Glad to hear it- it's not may favorite place. I usually dread going there...it'**** or miss with customer service. I find if I take myself there real early when they first open, I usuaul have a better experience. I had ordered a peice of furniture from there and when it came in they called ( you only have so many days to pick it up) so we went the next day to get it...arrive there through rush hour traffic, a crabby toddler, in the pour raining, only to be told we were to call ahead so someone could pull it from the back and help load it...but right then they didnt have anyone to do it. Now- if I had not practically robbed the item from the (between clearance, coupons, and discounts) I would would have told them screw off- give me my money back- since they never mentioned that procedure at the time of purchase or when they called to tell us to get it. Ugh. Glad it all worked out.
I also got two of the same outfits for like Christmas or Birthday- I really liked the outfit so I was going to get one in the larger size... the refused. Said i'd have to exchange it for the exact same size and pattern... um........ hello!!!! I was NOT happy at all! So I exchanged it at Khol's... It was a 'Carters' Item... so anywhere that sells Carters had it. Much easier at Khol's!
I hate return policies in instances like this. I agree with Donna though.......... Tell.... don't ask!

So glad it all worked out Paula....whew!
IMO about breast pumps....I ended up holding off until after Nathan was born to make the decision whether to make the investment in a pump....I wanted to make sure it was going to work out (latching, schedules, etc). I was very optimistic but was cautious. My plan was to rent for up to a few weeks and if all worked well after I tried I would purchase with the gift cards I had. Unfortunately it did not work for me. I was very bummed...even after taking a 4 hour class pre-Nathan, working with a several nurses and breast pump lady (cannot think of her title....) Anyway, I hope BFing works for you...like it does for so many people....my only advice on BP is perhaps wait and see, rent and then buy....just my two cents....
I cannot believe you are so close to having your LO in your arms....woooo hooooo!
